DISHNet or DIRECTV: That is the Question

When it comes to watching TV, anyone who has turned on a TV set recently will notice that there are no shortage of TV stations and networks to watch. In addition, there is no shortage of providers ready to offer you a way to watch all of these TV stations and networks. In the past it was an antenna or perhaps a set of rabbit ears. Then along came cable TV and then after that satellite TV. Today, the big players are digital satellite TV. While there might be plenty of cable TV companies to choose from,  when you are looking at digital satellite TV, there are really only two options, DISHNet and DIRECTV.

Editor's Note

While both of these companies offer fine services, what is most important to the growing number of  TV viewers these days is access to HDTV or high definition TV. If you are one of those people, you will be happy to know that both DISHNet and DIRECTV offer HD channels for around an extra $10. If, however, you are wondering if these two digital satellite networks HD line up is the same, then you should probably read on.

When you are considering either DISHNet or DIRECTV, you’ll need to understand that the basic packages from DISH Network and DIRECTV are somewhat different from each other. As an example, in religious programming, only DIRECTV has GOD TV, where only DISH Network has 3 Angels. If you want the NFL Sunday Ticket, it’s only available with DIRECTV, but DISH Network has an extensive sports lineup as well. These are only a couple of examples of differences…there are many more. The best thing to remember is that you need to compare the channels on our comparison charts to make an informed decision as to which package you really need.

There’s also some differences when you get to the premium packages like DIRECTV’s Premier package and DISH Networks Everything package. If you want an answer to the obvious question, which one is best, the only answer is that it depends on what your viewing tastes are. Again, I would say to utilize the comparison charts (on the right side of this page) to choose the exact package for you. That’s the best way to get the channels you want to watch for the absolute best price.

The reality is that with DISHNet and DIRECTV, you will be getting quality HD channel lineups of all different types. Which one is better is not a question that can be answered in a blanket statement. Both services offer different types of programming and what you prefer to watch will ultimately decide whether you go with DIRECTV or DISH Network.
